what is the point of this if you have to do everything manually? i want something that will scan the meta tags and get the art for them for me.

first, imgburn is not overly complicated. at install and first launch, you get a very clear and concise dialog asking what kind of project you'd like to complete; be it burn an image to disk, or create one etc. it does have the more complicated features for disk mastering for more advanced users, but they're not required as the defaults have never failed me regardless of the task i wish to perform.second, burnaware, while an ok type of app, falls short in some of its functionality and abilty, but can't be totally ignored because it is, after all, free.plumber should focus on a more intelligent and lucid explanation as to why he thinks one program beats another, and leave the passion out of it. slamming other people for their own beliefs simply because they don't fall in line with yours is immature and closed minded. rating a program high because the authors included adding it into the context menu or because they're a friend of yours is simply ridiculous. what other folks are mentioning here is simply this:when you compare this program to others, it doesn't do anything more than the others do besides that context menu thing. i, for one, don't care much about that since i prefer to get into the program itself and do the disk mastering myself. that being said, considering that the other programs are free and this one is not, i would go with the others, and between those two mentioned, imgburn is by far the more powerful and comprehensive. now i did give this program a fair shake and tried it, and quite frankly i am very not impressed with it. it's burner software. it works. so it gets a 3. does it work better? no, so it doesn't get an extra point which would have been a 4. when comparing apples to apples, is it free also? no, there goes the other point that could have brought it up to a 5. so to be clear, it works, but it's not free or as powerful as other free ones, it gets a 3.also, one other thing... take note of the image. right above this program's dialog for burning an image to disk, is windows built in ability to burn an image to disk, which is also (ahem) free. so is one really expected to pay to do something that can be done in literally the same step for free?and i don't know any of the authors to any of the programs.

this was great back when windows xp came out. its now 2010 and we are now in the age of windows 7. this software needs a major update or google needs to kill it. i already have desktop search and gadgets built in to windows 7 and someone needs to let google know that the sidebar is dead. however i would love to have something that would display my gmail count, my google agenda, and tasks on the desktop similar to outlook's to do bar. please update this old software google, please!

something is not right with this program.i installed it and extracted an icon from an exe file. i chose 32x32 at 8 bit and saved it to an ico file.it created a 16x16 at 32 bit color that is 25,214 bytes at 96 dpi.in order to get a workable graphic, i had to export the original 48x48 32 bit file to a bmp, open it in paint shop pro 7.04, manually reduce the size to 32x32 then manually reduce the color depth to 8 bit (256 color) with the following settings chosen:optimized median cutnearest colorinclude windows colorsthen i saved that as a bmp file that turned out to be only 2,102 bytes. i go back into icofx and open the file, and it gives me a "new image" dialog that defaults to 32 bit color. i had to manually check 256 colors under the colors section and 32x32 under the size section then click ok then do a file save as to an ico file that ended up being 2,238 bytes.only then was i able to load that ico file into the application that i needed it loaded in.i'm giving it one extra point just because the thing can successfully save in the ico format.it should not have to be like this, should it?

i used this crap with a 120gb maxtor sata disk mounted on a asus a7v600 motherboard (onboard via sata).ok, i tried once and didn't worked (the system worked pretty bad), so i uninstalled. later, i thought it deserve a second chance. i tried it again and this time was even worse. not only it hanged with all programs as it did before, but after uninstalling it and rebooted as requested, my windows never started again (bsod). no errors on uninstalling or anything like that, but seemed to messed the "system" registry, no luck with last known good configuration or chkdsk on recovery console or anything (it fixed some corruption, but couldn't make windows start again). this crap killed my windows xp. these toy is not only bad, but extremly dangerous. it's seems not to be a beta, but pretty early microsoft alpha crap. maxtor, please keep making good hard disk and forget the software.
